Makaila and I are excited to share our new article published in Lifestyle Genomics, entitled: Molecular Insights into the Functional Roles of Variants in the FADS Gene Cluster on Omega-3 Long-Chain Polyunsaturated Fatty Acid Synthesis. In this review article, we provide an overview of the various molecular mechanisms by which genetic variants in the FADS gene may lead to changes in fatty acid levels, with a focus on omega-3 fats. While more work is required to find the causal variants, the work done to date is both promising and exciting.
