Read our new paper in the Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry, entitled: Alpha-linolenic acid regulates white adipose tissue lipolysis independent of background dietary protein. In this study, Siobhan explored the impact of dietary proteins (dairy and soy proteins) and different amounts of dietary ALA on white adipose tissue lipolysis. Interestingly, this work showed that higher levels of ALA in the diet promoted increased lipolysis in male mice. More work is required to better understand how higher ALA impacts other pathways controlled adipose tissue lipid metabolism. Congratulations to Siobhan for publishing her MSc research.
